Welcome to The Quiet Rich, your weekly guide to a quiet mind and rich life. Today, you’ll get the Saturday ritual that has kept my relationship thriving.
But first, Ben and I are celebrating some big news. 🥹
His book, How To Be Good At Life comes out tomorrow.
I have watched this man pour his heart and soul into every page of this book over the last 3 years. I’ve read every version of every chapter. It’s by far the best self-help book since Atomic Habits.
If you already pre-ordered your copy, thank you from the bottom of my heart. It means more to both of us than you will ever know. And I can’t wait for it to be in your hands this week!
If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, order the book here. And if you buy it today, you’ll get instant access to his course: Year of Systems. It’s 52 weeks of bite-sized systems that make life feel so much more effortless. The course is only free for the first 30,000 people, and 24,000+ have already been claimed 👀 so I really wouldn’t wait!

CONTEXT
It’s safe to say that Ben and I are in the busiest season of our lives.
We're writing and launching our debut books six months apart. We run our business, Archimedes, together with a new cohort starting in November. And somewhere in the middle of all that, we're trying to plan a wedding.
A while back, we noticed something sneaky. We were spending more hours together than ever, but almost none of it was quality time. Our conversations were launch strategies, client calls, and marketing timelines.
We'd become such efficient business partners. And we'd quietly stopped dating. So we made a rule: every Saturday afternoon, we’d try something new together.
We fondly call them Saturdates.
And even after years of knowing each other, we started discovering new things. I had no idea Ben was so good at a pottery wheel. He had no idea I was so good at mini golf. ⛳
Every new experience reveals a side of your person you haven't met yet. Over a hundred Saturdates in, I can tell you the compound effect is real.
Here's exactly how to set it up:
METHOD
Step 1: Carve out the time.
We all know if it’s not on the calendar, it won’t happen. Every Saturday, Ben and I protect 2 to 4 PM. Make it a recurring calendar event so it's already decided.
Btw, you don’t have to do this with a partner. Start the ritual with a close friend! Or enjoy a solo Saturdate—it is truly underrated.
—
Step 2: Create a shared idea list.
Open a shared note called "Saturdates" and seed it with 10 ideas. Our best ones were cheap (or free). This ritual costs attention, not money:
- Stroll through a farmer's market
- Wander around a new museum or art gallery
- Pour your favorite coffee into a thermos and walk to watch the sunrise
- Explore a local bookstore or library and take home the best book there
- Go for an easy bike ride or hike
- Take a cooking class for your favorite kind of food
- Try a new workout class, like boxing or yoga
- Plan a no-phones picnic
—
Step 3: Alternate the planning.
This week, you plan. Next week, they plan. That means you’re each only planning two dates a month. Taking turns keeps it fair and doubles the surprise.
Pro Tip: Take one photo every Saturdate. Save it to a dedicated folder on your phone. On New Year's Eve, you'll have 52 priceless memories to scroll through.
CLOSING THOUGHTS
One pushback I hear: "No one need a 'system' for their relationship."
And hey—if you've been married for years, have kids, and still find effortless time for date nights? I’m so happy for you!
But I don't think that's the norm. It’s so easy for quality time together to get buried under logistics, to-do lists, and "is the dishwasher clean or dirty?"
A weekly Saturdate carves out space to reflect and keep building the relationship of your dreams. And no matter how tough the week gets, there's always a Saturdate to look forward to at the end of it.
Pssst. “Saturdates” is Week 28 of Ben's Year of Systems course. If you liked this system, you’re going to love the other 51 methods that Ben put together for your relationships, health, career, mindset, and more.
How to claim your course:
- Order the book from any retailer.
- Copy and paste your order number here on Ben’s cool website.
- As soon as it's verified, you get an email with instant access to Year of Systems!
All my love,
Jade
P.S. Send this to someone you want to try Saturdates with. ❤️
