CONTEXT
The secret question in the back of everyone's mind right now: What skill should I learn so AI can never replace me?
My answer? Bringing people together.
The smartest people I know are creating close-knit communities with a genuine sense of belonging. Maybe it’s in the form of a mastermind, a dinner club, a monthly meetup, or a retreat.
For me, it's Archimedes, the virtual community I’ve run on Circle for the past 3 years. It is genuinely the most meaningful thing I've ever created. (And I never take for granted that members want to hear me present for an hour every single week. 😅)
If I were starting a community from scratch today, here are the 4 things I'd do:

1. Build the community around your gift
Everyone has a unique skill or interest that they can build a community around. But whatever you do, don’t try to be for everyone. Keep narrowing your focus until you uniquely own it. Not "fitness," but "strength training for new moms." Not "investing," but "real estate for first-time buyers in their 20s."
I promise—no matter how niche your interests are, other people in the world share those same interests. Even if only 1 person in a million cared about what you care about (which is a very low bar), that’s still 8,000 people. And those are the people you’re building for.
Kevin Kelly famously argued that a creator only needs 1,000 true fans to make a living. You don't need millions of followers. You only need your tribe. And the internet has never made it easier to find them.

2. Be a giver, not a taker
How do you attract people to your community? Share your best advice of all time online (for free) without expecting anything in return.
I see so many people save their best ideas for the “paid version." But I share my favorite frameworks on LinkedIn, Instagram, and here in The Quiet Rich—always free. You'll never need to pay me for any of it.
I’m a firm believer that the more you give away, the more comes back to you. A trusted community is built over time. Consistency is everything.
And the people who want to go deeper with me will always find their way—because they know if my free methods are this good, my paid ones are even better. 🙂
That's how a strong community gets built. By over-delivering.

3. Host the best “dinner party” ever
An audience is connected to you. A community is connected to each other.
To me, the best communities feel less like a stage and more like a dinner table. Yes, of course the host matters, but the magic happens when the guests start talking to one another.
My job isn't to be the center of every conversation. It's to be the best connector in the room. We host these monthly “Archi-meets” sessions where all of our members—leaders, founders, authors, coaches, and top performers—get to meet 5 other members. And all I can say is that it’s pure magic. They lead to business referrals, partnerships, and long-term friendships.
I used to think people joined Archimedes for me. For the strategy, the frameworks, the coaching. And sure, they might join because of that. But they stay because of each other.

4. Choose the right platform to launch your community.
Where you build matters just as much as what you build.
You can do everything right: narrow your niche, give generously, host the best "dinner party" in your space—and still cap your impact if it's all living inside rented space that you have no control over.
